Tuesday Night: Explore Communications Opportunities in This "Company Town"

There are two great events lined up on Tuesday night, October 6, on the first floor of MGC, focusing on two huge job markets in this unique “company town”: government and associations.

First, as part of Federal Careers Week, an overview session for those interested in exploring jobs and internships in the federal government, in MGC 4, 5:30-7. There are opportunities for communications specialists in every branch, in every department, in every part of the country. (P.S. Check out advisor Chris Hughes’ podcast debunking myths of Federal jobs!)

THEN, right next door in MGC 3, 7:15-8:30 we’ve got a recruitment session with Hugh Delehanty, a former editor from Sports Illustrated, People, and Utne Reader who is currently the Editor-in-Chief of Publications at AARP, one of our strongest internship sites in terms of experience, supervision and mentoring. Come hear about internships at AARP, about Delehanty’s career path, and about the opportunities that associations in general can offer communication majors.  BTW: they’re not only recruiting for spring–they still have great 8-week internships available THIS SEMESTER!

Hope to see you there!!!!
